PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) Total & Free. PSA is elevated in about 30% of all cases with nodular prostatic enlargement. If all malignant tissue is removed at the time of radical prostatectomy, PSA should decline to undetectable levels within 3 weeks of the operation. Recurrence should then be checked quarterly in the first year and then at intervals of 4-6 months in succeeding years.
